Proceedings closed with brief speeches by newly elected chairman, Leonard Sterling, who also spoke before the meal, and social secretary Graham Ellery.
Finally came the raffle, again a great success due to the fine range of prizes on offer and Barbara Ellery's unique style of selling tickets!

Hide AdAt our next meeting on May 22 the speaker will be Bee Frost with her illustrated talk on the restoration of the windmill at Windmill Hill which lies on the A271 between Herstmonceux and Boreham Street.
Bee is a trustee of the restoration project which attracted 577,000 of Heritage Lottery money.
