Workplace romance put to the test by HAODS at The Capitol

Hide AdMacho factory superintendent Sid Sorokin (Daniel Chandler) has fallen head over heels with feisty union rep Babe Williams (Rachel Farrant) but when the workers are refused a seven-and-a-half-cent an hour raise, Babe and Sid are stuck at opposing ends of the conflict.
Supported by a host of entertaining characters, including flirtatious secretary Gladys (Beth Landskroner), her jealous long-suffering obsessive compulsive boyfriend Hines (Martin Bracewell) and mother hen of Sleep-Tite, Mabel (Amy Blaskett), this light hearted musical is bursting with energy.
The show is packed with big dance numbers and catchy tunes, including ‘Hernando’s Hideaway’, ‘I’m Not At All In Love’ and ‘7 ½ Cents’.
Director Yvonne Chadwell said: “As we move into spring and the sun is shining, we are on the final lap towards our production of The Pajama Game. Bringing life to the lovely libretto and score is easy – there is so much to work with; ‘Once a Year Day’ and ‘Steam Heat’ are two of the big chorus numbers.

As a director, I am justly proud of the whole team both on and off stage and with musical director Brian Steel and the cast, we hope to do justice to this lovely show in just a few weeks time.”
