Mayan morning held at Loxwood School
A Mayan re-enactment and history business for children paid a visit to year five and six children at Loxwood School this week.
‘Mexicolore’ brought with them ancient Mayan whistles, robes, weapons and musical instruments. They also had a lot of interesting artefacts such as an enormous sunstone.
Loxwood School pupil Angus said: “I found it interesting because of the dancing and noise. I learnt that they played five different types of ball games. My favourite part was watching them play ‘Pok a Tok’”
Pok a Tok was an ancient version of football and believed to be the origin of basketball.
All the children enjoyed a fun morning of learning and interactive activities.
