All clear for Bexhill and Rye revival funding bids
Rye Partnership and Bexhill Forward will be bidding for funding from the Coastal Revival Fund after Rother District Council cabinet members agreed to ratify their status at a meeting yesterday (Monday, October 5).
The groups will look to receive money for a Rye fishing heritage quarter and a visitor centre on Bexhill’s eastern seafront from the £3m fund.

Bexhill Forward’s plans also include a replica Iguanodon in Egerton Park and a dinosaur footprint trail.
“The overall aim of the project is to support jobs in the leisure and tourism economy and increase awareness of the town’s heritage and environment,” the officer’s report said.
Rye Partnership’s proposal would fund a fishing heritage centre, upgrading moorings, a dry dock and ten affordable houses in the Rye Fisheries area.
