The coastal defence steering group's first session was attended by parish and district councillors as well as representatives of commercial and community groups.
Among them were the parish's two churches. MP Nick Gibb chaired the meeting.

The group's next meeting will be in May when reports of action to date will be given.
A six-month study into the work needed to protect the eroding shoreline should start in April.
But parish councillors are worried this will still leave the area vulnerable to storms next winter because of the time needed to install preventative measures and find the necessary funding.
