Local History Group are meeting on September 10, 7pm at Ashburnham Church Hall. This month they are looking at ‘The History and Mystery of the Parish Church’ (to include a tour of the church) and ‘John Ashburnham - cavalier, diplomat and builder’.

Hide AdThe Chapel will be holding a special service on September 16, 6.30pm. This is a service to dedicate a tree to Fred Chacksfield, a pillar of the community and a man whom many remember fondly. Refreshments will be available afterwards to enable those attending to share their memories of Fred.
The next Coffee Morning is on Monday September 17 in the Church Hall, Ashburnham Place 10:30am - 12pm. You are welcome to go along for a good friendly chat. For further information, please contact Tina on 01424 843728.
Ashburnham and Penhurst WI are next meeting on Monday September 17 where their speaker will be Sheila Duffill, from the Wool Shop in Battle. Her subject is the craft of crochet and she will be happy to teach complete novices as well as helping those who already have some skill. The competition this month will be a photograph with the theme of “Summertime”. Meetings are in the Village Hall at 7.30pm and include refreshments and lots of time to chat.
