Bexhill car crash casualty condition worsens

It was believed a 20-year-old passenger in the Renault, from Bexhill, suffered slight injuries and was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, but his injuries are worse than first realised.

Hide AdAnother Clio passenger, an 18-year-old Bexhill woman, remains in a critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery for her serious injuries at the same hospital.
The Renault driver, a 20-year-old man from the town, also sustained serious injuries but was taken to the Conquest Hospital along with another of his passengers, a 21-year-old Bexhill man, who had slight injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 33-year-old man also from Bexhill, sustained minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.
The road was closed for several hours while the incident was dealt with, as firefighters used cutting equipment to free the four people trapped inside the Renault.

Hide AdPolice are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or noticed either vehicle being driven shortly before the crash to contact them.
