Wendy Mayers, who runs a cake stall in the market, made an ornate sponge to mark the occasion.
The market was set up by Rother Cllr Stuart Wood in September 2002 after public interest in the scheme.

The event is made possible through the continuing voluntary work of Cllr Wood and his team, who founded a second market in Little Common in June.
Cllr Wood expressed "concern" over the future of the Bexhill market, comparing its 200 shoppers with the 300 who regularly visit Little Common.
He said: "It would be a real shame if the market folded. Some of the stalls are the original stalls from five years ago. I'm not worried about Little Common, I think that will thrive. It's Bexhill that hangs on a thread."
