An Indian restaurant in Bexhill was named as given '˜highly commended' status in a parliamentary competition after being nominated by the MP.

The Shiplu was among the runners-up in the prestigious Tiffin Cup – a contest to find the best South East Asian restaurant in the UK ran by the House of Commons.

Huw Merriman MP put forward the much-loved Indian on London Road after receiving the most nominations when he asked his constituents to vote for their favourite earlier this year.
