Billingshurst fears on parking situation
Parking was top of the agenda at the meeting and three Horsham District Council representatives, Philip Circus, Brian Vine and Chris Dier, were there to answer questions and discuss the problems.
Billingshurst residents were anxious and angry. With the sale of Jengers Mead shops and its adjoining road and car park to a property company, there have been enormous parking problems.

Hide AdLocal businesses had been promised passes for the Jengers Mead car park, which they had always been able to use free of charge in the past. These passes have not been forthcoming.
Business owners and employees cannot afford to pay 690 a year for parking and their overflow of long-term parking is jamming up the free library car park and surrounding roads

Mr Dier pointed out that the property group had purchased Jengers Mead and was lawfully entitled to charge for parking on its land.
