Bonnets galore on the seafront
Members of the Bexhill 100 Motoring Club added to the colour of the occasion with Easter bonnets and, inevitably given today’s celebrations in London, there was also a Royal wedding theme to much of the spectacle.
As vehicles and owners lined up along the promenade, club president Brian Storkey chose Mike and Evonne Lee as worthy winners of the best dressed car award with their decorated Rover cabriolet.

Club spokesman Bob Wilkinson said: “The promenade was packed with people admiring the cars and members spent much of their time talking about and showing off their vehicles.”
“Stella, who runs the Old Bathing Hut Cafe, kindly gave drivers vouchers for free tea or coffee, but many people could not also resist buying ice creams or cakes from the shop. Thank you Stella, most appreciated.”
The event, held in glorious sunshine, was supported by members of Bexhill Classic Cycle Group with period costumes and bicycles to further add a flavour of yesteryear to proceedings.
