Hide AdFriday 1 November In Brede Village Hall the Brede Farmers Market will be open from 10am – 12pm. There you will find produce and crafts sourced and made locally. The Post Office Services are in Broad Oak General store from 11am –1.00pm. Also at 7.30pm Short Mat Bowls will take place in the Village Hall. In Winchelsea Village Hall at 2pm the Winchelsea Singers will be performing Gilbert and Sullivan’s funny light operatic “Patience” Tickets available from the Post Office in Winchelsea for this performance and also for tomorrow night at 7pm
Saturday 2 November, There will be a time for prayer and reflection at St Helens Methodist Church 10am –12 noon. Put those dancing shoes on for the Village Dance (Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing) at 7.30pn in Brede Village Hall. It is also Battle Bonfire tonight.
Sunday 3 November St Georges Brede there will be a sung Eucharist at 9.30am followed by coffee. At the Trinity Methodist Church the Reverend Richard Dengate will conduct the service.
4.30pm The Red Lion Chutney Challenge. Have you entered your homemade chutney in their house competition? Only one category Chutney; made by you. There will be a Trophy for the overall winner. This will be followed at 7pm a performance by the Tar Babies. The Rainbow Trout will be closed from 4.30pm – 5.30pm to prepare for their event the doors will open again at 5.30pm for the Guy competition, so take your home made one along as one will be chosen to go on the bonfire and there is a prize for the winner. Hot food and drinks will be available, lighting of the bonfire with the competition winner’s guy on top. Entry is £2 per Person. There will be a Professional Firework Display by Icon Pyrotechnics; a bonfire, Live Music throughout the evening. Hide AdAt any bonfire event over the next few weeks take care and have a great time. Monday 4 November Age Uk Day Centre will welcome people to join their Community Club for half a day (lunch, afternoon activities) especially if this is more suitable and affordable. Contact Maureen for more info 01424 883282 . Due to last weeks weather the club was closed so this week they will have Zena and her chair based exercises, word wheel, skittles and a raffle.
The Whist Players will arrive in the main Hall at 7.30pm ready to begin their game. In the small Hall the Rainbows start at 4.00pm with Brownies following at 5.30pm.
Beavers are in the Scout Hut at 5.30pm - 6.30pm, Cubs meet from 6.30pm – 8.00pm. Guides meet at Udimore Hall at 7.15pm
Tuesday 5 November the artists will gather to produce beautiful works of art at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall for Painting for Pleasure. The Messy Church meets this afternoon in Udimore Parish Hall at 4pm Children take a parent and enjoy some games maybe songs, certainly a good shared meal all for £1

Hide AdWednesday 6 November Brede Mother’s Union meet at 2.30pm in the Rectory. The Reverend Jim Hobbs will be giving them a talk If you wish to have a good stretch the Yoga is available at St Mary’s Village Hall Udimore 7pm.
Thursday 7 November 9.30am You could have another stretch this morning too if you join Sally for Stretch and Tone Brede Village Hall. Please note The VI O’clock Club Has had to cancel the Cameo Opera due to unforeseen circumstances. They apologise for any inconvenience caused. Hopefully they can come again later on.
Friday 8 November both Brede Farmers Market 10am – 12 noon and Short Mat bowls 7.30pm are held in Brede Village Hall.

Tuesday 10 December Brede and Udimore Luncheon Club are organising a coach to Canterbury. It will leave Brede Village Hall at 10am and return from Canterbury at 4pm. Non members will be most welcome to join the outing, it will cost £11.50 per person. If you wish to join this trip then please contact Aubrey White 01424 882762
The Bell ringers are once again erecting a Christmas tree outside the Church at the start of December to coincide with the Church’s Christmas Tree Festival. If you would like to donate £1 and dedicate a light in memory of a loved one or for a special occasion, then please put your name and dedication in an envelope and drop it in to Andrew Burchett. Alexander Cottage, Stubbs Lane, Brede TN31 6EJ or at Brede Farmers Market. You may also give it to any of the other Bell Ringers or go to the stall at the Christmas Tree Festival 6 7and 8 December. The proceeds this year will go be split in half between the cost of the floodlights around the Church and the Conquest Hospital League of Friends. A list of dedications will be put up on the Church notice board and the sum raised in the Parish magazine and this column in the New Year.
