Jilly Lynn, a volunteer at the Windmill Cinema, noticed the parking charge in the West Green car park had increased from £7 for over three hours to £7 for over two hours.

A spokesman said: “The change in the summer charges, agreed last year for West Green, was £1.50 for one hour, £3 for three hours and £7 for parking all-day.” This covers March 1 to July 1, when the all-day charge is increased to £8.
Mr Leigh-Jones said he ‘took immediate action to support the cinema’.
