Car park toilet ‘disgusts’ disabled veteran
Andrew Duggan, 48, of Bulkington Avenue, Worthing, labelled the toilets at the bottom of the High Street car park as ‘offensive’ and ‘unusable’.
Mr Duggan served in the Gulf War in Kuwait and needs to use the disabled toilets because of balance problems.

“I would expect that the council should have to keep the toilets in a reasonable state. That’s not the only disabled toilet in this area that is below par, but that’s the only one I would actually walk away from and not use.”
According to Mr Duggan, the toilet’s cistern has been leaking for more than a week and there’s been no hand towels for months.
Despite his criticism of the condition of the toilets, Mr Duggan said he could not fault the cleaners who work in them.

Hide AdA spokesman for Worthing Borough Council said: “We ask our cleaners to report any defects as part of their cleaning role but this was missed. We will ensure the repair is made as soon as possible and that there are plenty of paper towels as well. There is a meeting with the cleaning contractor this week and these points will be drawn to their attention. We are also pleased to report that there is funding to refurbish this facility next year.”
