Council events officer Sue Holmes said: "To mark the anniversary, a display of photographs is to be mounted in the Regis Centre to show memories of the earlier conventions.
"The town council would like to hear from anyone who took part in the clown parades between 1985 and 1994. We would be especially interested to see any photographs they might have."
Anyone with a photograph, or memorabilia they are willing to lend for the exhibition, should contact Mrs Holmes on 01243 825535.

The conventions ran in Bognor from 1985 to 1994. There was then a gap until 2006 when the town council joined with Clowns International and Butlins to bring back the parade.
The weekend grew to 110 clowns from Britain and overseas last year from an initial 68 in the first year of the revival.
The format of the new-look convention has seen the clowns arrive at Butlins on a Friday, March 6 this year, for a Circus, Circus weekend in the holiday resort.
