COUNTY NEWS: Police car pursuit after break-in at Sussex jeweller's
The Mercedes had mounted a pavement to avoid a police car waiting to block it off in Chapel Street, Chichester after the alarm was raised at Lowery jewellers nearby at around 3.22am, police said.
Officers arriving at the North Street shop saw three men running towards Chapel Street and on to St Cyrias, where the car emerged moments later, police said.

Hide AdThe vehicle was pursued onto the A27 towards Portsmouth and Hampshire Police picked up the case, arresting a man a short time later, Sussex Police confirmed.
A side-window was smashed in the incident, but it is not yet known if anything was taken.
Anyone who witnessed the break-in at the jeweller’s is asked to contact [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 135 of 28/07.
