Police appeal for witnesses to stabbing in Wick
Officers were called by paramedics at 9.13pm who were treating the man for a stab wound to the chest.
The victim, a 25-year-old man, had been walking with a friend in Gloucester Lane at around 9.05pm when they were approached from behind by two men running towards them.

Hide AdThe victim’s friend, a 24-year-old woman from Bognor Regis, ran away from the scene.
The suspects, one of them believed to be white, the other black, were both described as young, around 6ft, of slim build and were wearing dark clothing with hooded tops.
Detective Sergeant Alex Lowe said: “The victim suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and currently remains in a stable condition in hospital. If it had not been for the prompt attention he received from medical professionals, the outcome could have been a lot worse.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV in the area or who heard or saw anything suspicious.”
