Estate agent’s novel way to help treasured Arundel causes
To mark its recent re-opening in the town and with the aim of making the business a real part of the community, Clarkes Estates, in Queen Street, has come up with a novel fundraising idea.
“For every Arundel property we take on to sell, from now until the end of 2013, we will donate £250 out of our sale fee to the vendor’s chosen charity, once the sale has been completed,” explained Linsi Caldecourt, senior negotiator at the branch.

“A lot of people don’t realise that while the money has been raised to build the new museum and for the Lido’s boiler appeal, both these charities need ongoing support to raise vital funds, to enable them to continue,” added Linsi. “As far as we know, we are the first estate agent in the country to introduce anything like this and we hope it will be a great success.”
David Wood, chairman of the charitable trust which runs the Lido, said he was ‘amazed’ by the idea. Pauline Carder, chairman of Arundel Museum Society, said: “Arundel Museum and Arundel Lido each have financial challenges to face and it is really good to see the local business community contributing to the ongoing stability and success of these popular venues.”
