FAULTY BOILER INQUEST VERDICT
Peter Lewis-Griffiths, 66, was looking after his brother's home in East Grinstead Road when he was found dead in bed by the cleaner on April 9, 2002.
A later investigation by gas engineers found a boiler below his bedroom had leaked lethal amounts of carbon monoxide which travelled through a hole in the ceiling, into an airing cupboard and across the landing to his room.

British Gas in a statement released after the verdict said: 'We have campaigned for many years to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxides poisoning and we are deeply saddened that something like this could happen in one of our customer's homes.'
