Future of Southlands could be hanging in the balance
SOUTHLANDS Hospital could be under threat if a lucrative musculoskeletal contract awarded to Bupa CSH Ltd is put in place, according to the hospital’s League of Friends chairman.
Malcolm Brett fears MSK services at the Shoreham-based hospital could be ‘diminished’ and moved elsewhere if the Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group decide to sign a £235 million contract with Bupa rather than the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Brett said: “If you take out those services, there’s little life left in the building.”
