Today (Thursday, July 4) is Independents’ Day, a national campaign which aims to give a voice to the UK’s independent retailers. Organised by the National Skills Academy for Retail and now in its third year, the campaign has been declared a nationwide day for the public to shop at independent retailers and celebrate diversity on the high street.
There are so many beautiful boutiques that are waiting to be found.

Hide AdThe range of independent shops on offer is impressive. For ladies’ wear Lili Boutique, Strawberry, Saffron, Indigo, Little London Boutique, Mousetrap, Pushka and Lady Jane Dress Agency, among many others, offer one-off gowns for that special – and not so special – occasion.
Dartagnan, Andrew McDowell, LJ for Jeans and Stephen Lawrence offer high-quality fashion for the discerning man.
Children are catered for with The Sweet Jar, Boogaloo Shoes, Kids Love Toys and Baby Talk. For bespoke and high-quality jewellery the city hosts many independent jewellers.
