As well as supporting Mr Addison’s father, Macmillan also helped care for his grandfather during his battle with cancer, giving him another reason to raise money for the charity.
Kathryn Johnson, spokesman for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Money raised from events like the marathon provide invaluable support to the work we do that helps people affected by cancer cope with the impact of cancer at every stage.”
Mr Addison has raised more than £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support over the past eight years.
Macmillan Cancer Support is looking for people to sign up for the Brighton Marathon and the BM10k on Sunday, April 15.
