"This is progress.
"Since the matter was raised in the Observer, I have been in touch with Royal Mail s external affairs chief and asked specific questions.
"I now have some answers."
Royal Mail have told the Bexhill Town Forum chairman and former Rother councillor that problems with mail going to the wrong address are down to human error. She says local staff have now been briefed to check their mail carefully.
"Royal Mail say they will monitor the situation by the number of complaints they receive.

"I personally think that with any complaint it is wisest to write and to keep a copy of the letter but maybe in this instance anyone ringing that Royal Mail number might also like to tell the Observer that they have called so that there is some independent monitoring. Or they can contact me via the S.E. Postwatch office, telephone number 020 7259 1236."
