Lighting decision deemed ‘crazy’ and ‘frustrating’
A lamp that has provided residents on the street with what they say was perfectly adequate light for more than 40 years has been replaced with a new light obstructed by a tree canopy.
Roy Burtenshaw, 66, of Orchard Avenue, Worthing, said: “Rather than improve the lighting they have made it poorer. All you get now is a shadow of the tree across the road. It’s crazy what they are doing. You can see how enclosed it is. They told the lady at number 45 to trim the tree, but you don’t trim a tree canopy.”
