BEXHILL High School's Autism Support Pod, affectionately known as 'The ASPie', is throwing open its doors on Thursday, July 21, from 10am to 3pm to show how it promotes and enhances the development of children with high-functioning autism and Aspergers.
The ASP caters for up to 22 young people aged 11 to 16 and has a set of rooms and specialist staff which enable autistic students to have access to mainstream education at the Gunters Lane school.
Philip Edkins, ASP manager, said: “Among those we have invited to our open day are our local MP Greg Barker; the Mayor of Bexhill, Councillor Stuart Wood; school governors, head teachers, special educational needs managers, caseworkers and parents.
