EU is damaging our legal system

I could not possibly comment.
My main reason for wanting out is the way our legal system (the finest in the world, I believe) is being changed, much for the worse.
In France, you can be arrested and imprisoned without trial almost indefinitely while investigations are pursued.

Hide AdYou are ‘guilty until proved innocent’. This is quite the reverse of what happens here where you must be charged or released within a stipulated time. The ‘European Arrest Warrant’, to which our Government has recently subscribed, gives the Code Napoleon, as it is called, a nasty foothold on our shores.
Yes, we can now more easily take action against foreign speeding lorry drivers who flee home but they are then dealt with here much more fairly than if an Englishman speeding in France gets taken back there.
There is quite a bit more to this but to explain it here would take too much space.
Our country is almost the last in the world to have a police force which is not routinely armed.
Again, I could not possibly comment.
