LETTER: Increase must be thrown out

I am sure that many people will be writing about the permanent, irreversible damage to our countryside but I should like to point out that the proposal will also lead, inevitably, to the breakdown of local infrastructure such as water supply, parking, rail services, education and medical services.
In particular, the Princess Royal Hospital, which is managing to provide a good service with inadequate resources, at the cost of unreasonable stress on its staff, is nearing breakdown. Local GPs, midwives and social services are also under stress.

Hide AdExtra staff cannot be recruited, in the numbers necessary, because the cost of accommodation is prohibitive. New houses, with young families, will increase the load without solving the resource problem.
This unnecessary increase must be thrown out.
