Andy Murray comment - Worthing not least bit boring

There is another reason why Worthing is a great place for Andy, or indeed anyone to visit, and that is the army of volunteers and what they do for the town and its people.
Worthing Lions holds two major events each year, the Seafront Festival during the last weekend of July and the November 5 Firework Extravaganza. The Seafront Festival attracts thousands of visitors all of whom bring trade to the town and the Lions really do put Worthing on the map during the summer months with classic cars, scooter, the fairground and the charity markets on the Sunday. The bonfire night firework display is a relatively new event but is quickly proving to be probably the biggest event of the year for the town. Both these events are completely free.

Hide AdChristmas is another very busy time for the Lions with their static display and Santa’s Grotto outside the Guildbourne Centre and the nightly street collections. In 2015, £6,300.00 was raised by the Lions, all of which will be given to local causes. Lion President Steve Coe would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to the street collection and Whittington and Co Lettings Estate Agents for their generous sponsorship.
So Worthing isn’t the least bit boring and the members of Worthing Lions certainly aren’t bored as they have so much to do.
