Explaining change at South Terrace
PVCu windows are not unacceptable in the vast majority of cases. However, with listed buildings and buildings of special character, the use of inappropriate materials harms the appearance of these buildings and the amenity of the area.
In the case of South Terrace, it is evident, when looking at the area, that the non-uniform appearance of the windows and the presence of aerials and satellite dishes on the front of the properties have a hugely negative impact upon their appearance. We believe that the requested changes would result in a dramatic improvement in the appearance of the area.

South Terrace is a significant visual feature to the many visitors to Littlehampton. By restoring the original character of these buildings, we believe that we will contribute to the ongoing regeneration aims of the town.
Where unauthorised works have been undertaken to listed buildings, we will work with owners to secure their removal over an appropriate time period. If this cannot be achieved, we will serve enforcement notices to resolve the matter.
