From near and far
If he looked on a map he would find that there are no other A roads north of the A27 for several miles.
The point I'm trying to make is that traffic uses that road to travel long distance and not just locally.

Hide AdYes, I remember when there was only the road through Arundel and the bypass was put in to save Arundel from complete meltdown.
Now, unfortunately, the same thing is happening between Crossbush and the other side of Arundel, and not just at rush hours, either.
I work on a farm alongside the A27 and the traffic hold-ups can happen any time in the mornings.
I was at the Crossbush junction on Sunday at 12.30pm and the traffic was backed up almost to Poling.

Hide AdI do agree that driving a new road through a beautiful wooded area isn't ideal, but to re-route it would be even longer.
Has Mr Lewis ever thought that where he lives used to be open fields?
If they hadn't built his estate or any others in the area, then we probably wouldn't need all these roads.
Just imagine living in Worthing, working in Chichester and having to face that every morning!
I'm very lucky I don't have to, but many do.
