LETTER: Takeover time
The initiative, starting on November 20, helps them decide which career to pursue in later life and builds their confidence. More than 44,000 children took part last year – in fact, so keen were businesses to run longer placements, this year we’ve renamed it from Takeover Day to the Takeover Challenge.
Some big names are getting involved this year. Children are taking over parts of the BBC, the NHS and even the Houses of Parliament.

Hide AdWe’re keen to increase the number of businesses involved, so would like to appeal directly to your readers. It’s a great way for businesses and organisations to gain a fresh perspective on what they do and for young people get their voices heard and ideas listened to.
It’s not just about giving young people work experience but about providing them with a unique experience.
If you run a business or organisation and would like to show children the ropes, please sign up on our website, www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/takeover-challenge
