Police could target roadside vehicles
We are warned by the police themselves never to buy one of the many vehicles advertised for sale at the roadside with mobile ‘phone numbers stuck on their windscreens. These may be stolen, in hoc to finance firms, cloned, bodged up from insurance write-offs or MoT failures; any number of good reasons to ignore what might look like a tempting bargain.
It seems a simple matter for police patrols to note these vehicles when passing (in search perhaps of more abandoned trolleys) and investigate whether a serious offence is being committed likely to lead to the loss of an innocent’s buyer’s money or actual loss of life.
