Your local band needs you
Horsham Accordion Band are opening their doors and inviting other instrumentalists to join them in their merry music making.
For the past 28 years the group have locally practised on a Wednesday evening and then played out at events all over Sussex and beyond. In latter years they have consisted of just accordions, mainly piano accordions and one button accordion, these being accompanied by a keyboard.

Hide AdLast year they played out at 14 events. These included the Carfax and Park bandstands in Horsham, 4 folk dances, a Scottish evening, Christmas party, 2 French themed venues, 3 listen and sing-along sessions and a tea party. With several members retiring recently they are interested in finding more accordionists and also broadening their sound and opening the door to musicians whose instruments blend warmly with the accordion.
Currently our members are drawn from Guildford, Hailsham, Worthing, Lower Beeding, Itchingfield and Horsham.
The band’s practice night is Wednesday 7.30-9.30pm in Slinfold Chapel … unless of course they are out playing for an event. You are very welcome to come along and see what they get up to. It would be great if anyone interested in exploring this idea could get in touch with the band leader Mags on 01403 790717 or email [email protected]
