Magnificent job
An action week in an attempt to revive the area of Castle ward was organised by Worthing Borough Council in conjunction with Neighbourhood Watch, the local police and the community church.
Its intention was not only to improve our surroundings but to try to reconstruct a sense of community that seemed as derelict as the area we live in.

It's sad to think that a valuable opportunity has been missed to not only clean up the environment in which we live but to get to know our neighbours.
Many live in fear of anti-social behaviour and this may have been our chance to connect with the people we live alongside.
Despite the disappointment of the lack of public participation, a magnificent job was done by the police, the youth offenders scheme, community payback, the students of Durrington High School, the community church, the local Neighbourhood Watch and Mike Barnard on behalf of the council.
