Parking hikes for Windmill scrapped
The council had proposedto increase the charge from £4 for over four hours to £6 for over two hours.
The matter was discussed at the leisure, tourism and infrastructure committee last Wednesday, when chairman Dr James Walsh proposed the charge be reduced to £3 for up to three hours.This was supported by the committee, and accepted by cabinet member Paul Dendle at the meeting.

Hide AdDr Walsh said: “This is a victory for common sense and local campaigners, as the last thing that was wanted with the restoration of cinema at The Windmill was a self-defeating increase in charges deterring potential cinema and theatre-goers.”
