Jacob White wanted to do something to help others who are suffering after his beloved great-grandad, Andrew Bence, died of cancer at Christmas.
Jacob celebrated his birthday on New Year’s Day and decided that day he wanted to raise money for charity. He is running 26.2 miles in January, broken down into shorter runs, with his mum, Abi Bence.

Abi said she was very proud of her son, who has already completed 22 miles.
She said: “Jacob is doing an amazing job. our beloved grandfather died, after a three year battle with cancer. On his birthday, Jacob decided he wanted to do something to raise money for Cancer Research and he set himself a challenge of running a marathon (42km) over the course of January.
“As of January 15, he has currently run 36km and raised £565 for Cancer Research. We as parents couldn’t be prouder that such a young boy wants to make his grandad proud, while raising money for such an amazing charity.”
