Selsey lifeboat crew rescues man trapped on island

Selsey RNLI inshore lifeboat launched at 3.18pm yesterday following a report to the UK Coastguard that a person had been cut off by the tide in Medmerry Nature Reserve.
The man had been walking from Selsey to Wittering before the tide blocked his route.

Hide AdA crew of three aboard the Selsey inshore lifeboat arrived moments after Coastguard Rescue Teams from Selsey and Littlehampton at 3.26pm.
The casualty was found on an island and had stripped to his underwear as he prepared to cross the rising waters but after entering, decided to call the Coastguard who advised him to get dressed and await help.
Once the man had be rescued he was said to be 'fit and well' and he was dropped off on the beach near Bunn Leisure.
The Crew was made up of Helmsman Harry Emmence, Andy Lee and Max Wiseman.
