PICTURES: The '˜Big Bang' careers fair 2017
Designed as a celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects, the day is the culimation of STEMfest which aims to give students an insight to careers and courses in the sectors and counteract the shortfall in skills the industries are experiencing.
Michelle Galley, STEM Sussex marketing co-ordinator, said: “We have had lots of amazing feedback from students that attended including one who said they now want to become a helicopter pilot.”

Hide AdStudents from Bohunt School (Worthing), Bourne Community College, Davison CE High School for Girls (Worthing), Felpham Community College, Littlehampton Academy, The Midhurst Rother College, Portsmouth Academy for Girls, The Regis School and The Sir Robert Woodard Academy (Sompting) attended last Tuesday’s offering.
Ms Galley added: “They were able to do everything from making a lava lamp to learning about robots.”
Companies hosting hand on activites included Airbus Space & Defence Army, the NHS and the Science Museum alongside local colleges and universities.
