Planners back travellers' site bid
The site, within the Sussex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), is on the eastern side of the A275, north of the Offham Road petrol station.
Last year permission was granted, on appeal, for the land to be used as a 'private gypsy site' for two caravans for three years.

Council planning officers recommended the application was agreed, despite opposition from Hamsey Parish Council, and four letters of complaint.
A report stated: 'It is not considered that this additional caravan would result in any demonstrable harm over and above that which exists currently on the site.'
The final decision will be made by Lewes District Council's planning committee on June 18.
