Police appeal after robber threats man with knife and hammer
The incident took place at around 9pm on Saturday March 25, in Sloane Close, Bewbush, police said.
The victim, a 42-year-old man, had arranged to meet a woman he had been talking to online but was instead greeted by a man armed with a knife and a hammer.

Hide AdA Sussex Police spokesman said: “The suspect emptied the contents of the victim’s wallet before fleeing. The victim was left shaken but unharmed.
“The suspect is described at white, around 5ft 9in, with short black hair and stubble.”
DC Kirstie Neal added: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Sloane Close and may have seen what happened to come forward.
“We are also seeking anyone else who may have fallen victim to this previously and hasn’t come forward yet.

Hide Ad“Finally, I would urge those members of the public using the internet to make connections to exercise caution when meeting someone for the first time and consider arranging to do so in well lit public places with lots of people around.”
