From James’ initial diagnosis in 2017 until his passing in 2021 he was an indefatigable campaigner for better lung cancer screening, becoming the first MP to host a debate on the floor of the House of Commons on this important matter and I am so pleased that Cathy is continuing his work in this area.”
She said a new NHS Lung Cancer Screening programme has been agreed and will be rolled out across the UK by 2028, which could save 9,000 lives a year.
