Tributes follow death of Warnham/Rusper councillor Mick Hodgson
In a statement, the council says Mr Hodgson, who joined the council in 2001, had lived in Warnham for most of his life, and was a former chairman of the parish council.
He was also chairman of the County Council’s Planning Committee from 2003-2009.

Hide AdA Chartered Surveyor, his special interest was the countryside, and he was married with three children.
Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council, said: “Mick was a lovely man and a very hard working County Councillor. He will be sadly missed, and I extend my sympathies to his family.
“He represented our county exceptionally well in his role as Vice Chairman attending a wide range of events. He was always a tremendous ambassador for West Sussex.”
A date for a by-election will be arranged in due course.
Mr Hodgson’s death was the second piece of sad news for the council in recent weeks.

Hide AdCounty Councillor Frank Wilkinson, who had represented Storrington since 1997, died in July.
Voters in that division will go to the polls on Thursday, September 26 to elect a new county councillor.
Nominations for the vacancy will close at noon on Friday, August 30 and a list of candidates will be published on Tuesday, September 3.
