Popular retailer’s sights are firmly set on south coast
The German-headquartered food retailer is looking for sites in Worthing and Littlehampton, among others in West Sussex.
The areas are listed on Aldi’s corporate website.
Worthing town centre manager Sharon Clarke said she had not heard any rumours about any firm ideas for sites but noted Union Place and Teville Gate were being marketed currently.

“Potentially Union Place would be big enough and they have not selected a developer for that yet. Teville Gate is also being marketed.
“It is all about choice. We have quite a good supermarket offer, however customers want choice and having something different would be better than having one of the same.”
A total of 25 other locations are mentioned on the website, with a contact number for those who have suitable site options to contact. Aldi was approached for comment but had not replied by the time the Herald and Gazette went to press.
