Despite there being double yellow lines outside his house on Sun Street, Steve White has endured numerous problems with vehicles parking on the pavement.
He said: “Not only have drain pipes and guttering been torn off my building, but I have had two occasions where scaffolding lorries parked across my front door, blocking access and preventing me from leaving.”

Mr White added: “I’d like to thank Ruth O’Keeffe for her persistence, It’s been a long fight but in the end, the council only put them in when I offered to pay for them to be installed.”
An East Sussex County Council spokesperson said: “With a limited budget, it is not council practice to install bollards to prevent parking on pavements or verges, particularly in urban areas.
“However, in light of the problems the resident was experiencing, we agreed to install two bollards on the understanding he would pay for their installation and maintenance.”
