Christmas Capers: Robertsbridge late night opening is this evening Friday 5th December between 6pm – 9pm. The High Street will be closed to traffic at this time so please try and use alternative routes. Other than the shops being open for festive cheer and the buying of gifts there will be street entertainment too. Ian Clark our own Town Crier will be out, as will ROCOCO singing carols. Angie Mack will be doing a show of tricks, music, comedy and heart. There is to be a Flying Chair Roundabout for the children at the George car park. Santa will be at his Grotto in the Youth Centre and the Tree of Love is also at the Youth Centre frontage, you can buy a Star in memory of a loved one at either Florist with donations to St. Michaels Hospice. At Robertsbridge House you can pop in to see displays of photographs of Robertsbridge Bonfire, also the Christmas Draw tickets are on sale at the Floral Boutique and I will be there to sell you some, so come and see me and have a glass of something festive and you may be lucky enough to win a luxury hamper. There will be many food stalls along the way with doughnuts, roasted chestnuts, fish and chips, wood fired pizzas and even New Spice will be out and about. Everything that can be wanted for a lovely festive evening where you can buy gifts, celebrate the coming of Christmas and have a catch up with all your friends. Robertsbridge Market: This is tomorrow Saturday 6th December and will be open for an extra hour this month. 10am – 1pm with weather permitting there will be stallholders inside and out. There will be the regular crafters and producers with a great selection of goodies and essentials for Christmas. There will also be the Christmas Raffle with 20 + prizes which are donated very generously by the stallholders, this will be drawn at the end of the market. The Wealden Consort: is based in the Weald of Kent and is led by Cornelis Taekama. This is an enthusiastic and accomplished choir of around 25 mixed voices who enjoy coming together to make music and perform concerts at charity fund raising events throughout Kent, Sussex and further a field. If you would like to hear the choir and support charity then tomorrow evening Saturday 6th December you can do just that. There is to be a Christmas Concert at St Mary’s Church Salehurst starting at 7.30pm and is in aid of the Ebola Crisis Appeal. Tickets are on the door at £7 for adults and £4 for children.

St Mary’s Church: Advent has arrived. This week on Sunday 7th December there will be Eucharist with hymns at the Holy Trinity in Hurst Green at 9.30am and then at 11am the Family Eucharist at St. Mary’s Salehurst.
