Prince Rostislav Romanov’s painting is the jewel in the auction’s line-up after holding exhibitions in London, New York and Moscow.
The prince, who is also the bonfire society’s vice-president, donated the oil pastel and it will be available to bid for at the Mermaid Inn, with viewing from 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Other lots include the honour of lighting this year’s bonfire, a flight from Lydd airport, an overnight stay at a number of nearby B&Bs, meals at various establishments, short-break holidays, a scallop necklace, a carpet, several fresh hampers, and many more.
