Hide AdSedlescombe And District Flower Club: Congratulations to the flower arrangers, Jean Dann, Joan Rowe and Chris Lynch that entered the floral art section of the show taking all the shields and cup in Section D. Jean Dann with her man in the moon was particularly stunning and Joan Rowe certainly has not lost her touch in creating beautiful arrangements. You may also have noticed the six arrangements on display outside the marquee, this was a ‘Beatles Showcase’ and depicted ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’, ‘Love, Love Me Do’, ‘Penny Lane’, ‘Ticket to Ride’, ‘Yellow Submarine’ and ‘Twist and Shout’ showing the talent of Norma Huntley, janet Farmer and Sheila Benson. The next meeting of the club takes place on Wednesday August 13 at Sedlescombe village hall , the visiting demonstrator this month will be Gill Smaggasgale who will be interpreting “ Listening in Colour”, another intriguing title . Members and visitors are very welcome so if you would like to see what it is all about then please come along and enjoy the evening. There is always time for socialising and meeting other members and if you are in need of flower arranging supplies, keenly priced accessories are available to purchase, not to mention the raffle of the floral arrangements at the end of the evening. We look forward to seeing you there but if you have any questions before the date, please contact Janet on 01424 773708.
Local Bus Consultation: Deadline for responses: 28 September 2014 East Sussex County Council is seeking your views on a number of changes that it is proposing to its subsidised bus services. The proposals would save £1.79m of public money but still ensure that 91% of all current passengers on the East Sussex bus network are unaffected. It would also ensure that over 95% still have access to a 6 day a week service, Monday to Saturday. http://bit.ly/1zywdzn
