Hide AdHis wife Kathleen organised the autumn fair itself and commented: "Everybody has helped with this '“ everyone brings items in, it has all come from people in the club, and they set up their own stalls and sell them. All the money from this is going to new carpets for our stage '“ we have put new curtains in, and now we are trying to raise this money for carpets in here and out in the hall and up the stairs.
"This is a charity and we have to raise the money to do everything.
"I think it is important '“ when people come in they don't want to see a building like an old peoples' home. We like to make it nice and bright here so that when people come in and see it, they want to join. There is a very good atmosphere here...we have 400 members and they are getting younger now, the 55 year olds are coming in now and it is a lot younger group."
