UPDATE: Witness appeal after A24 cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the dual carriageway near the Buckbarn Crossroads shortly after 11.30am.
The cyclist, described by police as a 67-year-old local man, has suffered a serious head injury.

Hide AdWorthing Road in Southwater was closed to enable the Sussex Air Ambulance to land on the dual carriageway.
The man has been airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London.
His condition is life-threatening, say Sussex Police.
Diversions set up while emergency services were in attendance, but the incident caused significant traffic delays.
The northbound carriageway of the A24 was re-opened just after 1pm but the southbound carriageway remained closed for a further two hours.
