UKIP claim Castle by-election victory
A BY-election triggered after a Lib Dem councillor was dismissed for non-attendance has been won by UKIP (Friday, August 8).
Former mayor Charles James won by a majority of 83 votes from the Conservatives, announced at the count at Palatine Park Football Centre at around 11pm yesterday.
The election had been triggered after Lib Dem David Potter failed to turn up to a single meeting in six months – his former party were relegated to third.
